Since the pandemic and lockdown restrictions eased in 2022, as can be expected, the share of remote job postings has decreased, even in the major industries and sectors that hold the most remote jobs, according to Indeed's latest research. Although hybrid remote jobs are still popular, and are picking up from where they were at the beginning of this year, remote and hybrid remote roles are still fewer in numbers than where they were immediately after the pandemic. Nonetheless, there still remains hope.
Remote work remains three times more common than in 2019, and the ten fields most commonly sought out for remote work, still continue to have a large share of remote jobs. The legal sector, in particular, is one of the few industries that saw an increase in remote work from February 2022 to October 2024, while other roles and industries either remained steady or dropped a few percentage points.
